About the Artist:

José John Santos III is a prominent Filipino contemporary artist known for his surrealist and symbolic figuration. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts and later served as a faculty member there for several years. In 2000, the Cultural Center of the Philippines honored him with the prestigious Thirteen Artists Award, recognizing his significant contributions to Philippine contemporary art. Santos developed a new approach in his work that incorporated more graphic elements and played with the balance between flatness, surface design, and tonal depictions of mass.
